Ashlea Chaffer
Ash has been Vet Nursing since October 2007, and part of the team at Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals since June 2008.
She has always had a great love for all creatures and has known from a very young age that Animal Nursing was the job for her!
Ash plans to study Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and a Diploma in both Surgical and Emergency and Critical Care nursing in the coming years.
The animals in Ash's life consist of her parents’ German Shepherd - Barney (pictured) - who is way too full of energy, Holly the Laborador x Rottweiller - who belongs to her housemate, and Zac her sister's Staffodshire Bull Terrier.
Ash's favourite breeds are the Miniature Bull Terrier dog - one of which she plans to add to her family very soon - and Devon Rex and Burmese cats.
Ash spends most of her spare time dancing, relaxing at her home in Mt Evelyn, exercising, eating and sleeping!

Charlene Wynne
Hi , I'm Charlene and I have worked as a Veterinary Nurse at Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals for the past 6 years. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for 15 years and love the job and the satisfaction it gives you being able to help both the clients and their pets.
I am a qualified Animal Nutritionist and also enjoy emergency work. I have numerous certificates that are updated on a regular basis to help us to help complement the team in looking after your pets to the best of our ability.
I have one “furbaby” at home who is a Kelpie cross called “Jake”. He is currently 9 years old and was rescued as a puppy, something he still likes to think he is.

Cheryl Pollock
I started grooming in 1973. Initially this involved approximately 3 years in training, learning the techniques for all breeds of dogs in order to become an all breed dog groomer.
Punctuating this time I have had a few breaks from grooming to raise a family and pursue other activities.
I have worked in various veterinary clinics for over 20 years, and I have worked for the Eltham Central, Montmorency and Box Hill Veterinary Hospitals since 1997.
I am a registered Feline Control Council (FCC) cat show judge and have judged all over Australia as well as internationally.
I have also breed and shown Minature Poodles and Persians for many years.
My love for animals has led to a rewarding career in grooming and veterinary nursing as well as enjoyable hobbies in breeding, showing and judging.

Chloe Emmerson
Hi my name is Chloe,
Before I started working at The Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals I worked at The Cat Protection Society for one and a half years. There, I was an animal attendant for one year and then a surgery nurse for 6 months. Since a child I've always loved animals and helping them so, after being exposed to the shelter side of animals, I grew an even stronger passion to try to help abandoned pets. So far, I have accumulated for myself 2 Dogs, 5 Cats, numerous Budgies, a Cockatoo, Correla, Lorikeet and a Roster, all whom have been rescued.
Eventually, I felt I needed to move on from animal refuge shelter work as it was difficult emotionally being exposed to this type of heartbreaking, but necessary, work all the time, so I came and joined the Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals team in September 2008.
Since joining Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals, I’ve now begun to develop experience with a wide variety of pets ranging from rats to dogs. I've just started formally studying for my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, to gain more knowledge to complement my work experience.
What I love the most about my job is experiencing the side where pets are considered as being more than just animals and are loved and treasured as real family members.
I’ve always known since a child that this job is what I was destined to do.

Dee Hinton
I have been a vet nurse since 1995 and began working at Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals in 2004. Prior to my mid life crisis career change I worked as an office manager.
I am a member of the Victorian Ferret Society and Greyhound Safety Net, and have also worked as a dog trainer for many years.
My animals – cats, dogs, lizards, frogs, ferrets, birds, fish and leaf insects – have kindly given me permission to reside in a small corner of their home.

Lisa Taylor
Hi my name is Lisa Taylor. I have been a vet nurse for about 7 years now. I currently have Certificate 3 in Veterinary Nursing, however I am hoping to go back and get my diploma to specialise in critical care. I love all aspects of my job, especially the interaction with the animals and their owners.
I currently have 3 cats who believe they are human; Harry, Annie and Bruce. A Border collie named Jessie and 3 horses Libby, Tiffany and Pippa.
I have a keen interest in Native Wildlife and running school talks on responsible pet ownership and about Native Wildlife. I also enjoy reading, walking and catching up with friends and family.
Until recently, I was working full time as a vet nurse however I have just had a beautiful baby boy, Lachlan, who keeps me very busy at the moment. I hope to return to veterinary nursing part-time in the near future.

Liz owns two well-mannered pooches, Vilma the Laborador and Ari the Laborador x Golden Retriever. She also has a Domestic short haired cat, called Gidget.
In her spare time, Liz enjoys activities with her two boys, gardening, camping with the family, snow skiing and reading when she finds enough time.

Samantha Thwaites
I have worked with Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals for 5 1/2 years. The last 3 years have been part time, since having my beautiful girls Alanna and Megan.
My main roles within the clinics now are puppy school instructor and practice administration. I love week four of puppy school, graduation, where the puppies get a chance to show us all how clever they are.
I get great satisfaction from hearing vets working together through a complicated case and achieving a positive outcome.

Scott Patterson
Scott has been a dedicated wildlife carer since the tender age of just 13. He has always had a love for animals, in particular, wildlife such as Possums, Wombats, Kangaroos, Birds and Reptiles.
He joined the team at Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals in June 2007, starting as an assistant nurse/groomer and is now in training to become a qualified Veterinary Nurse.
Scott voluntarily runs his own animal shelter from home called the "Katandra Wildlife Shelter", and most of his spare time is spent cleaning enclosures, feeding and watering the animals and nursing sick or injured wildlife back to health, after which they are re-released.
When he finds the time, Scott loves to hit the town with his friends and rescue animals in need.

Lyn Hall
I have been grooming for about 11 years, at the start of which was when I bought my first Miniature Schnauzer.
I learnt how to groom for showing from top Miniature Schnauzer breeders. I also breed Miniature Schnauzers now.
I have since expanded to other breeds and have been working at Eltham Central Veterinary Hospital since 2007, enjoying every day with the dogs and cats there.

Lenny (Cat)
Hi my name is Lenny, I live at the Montmorency Veterinary Hospital.
I love to wander around the clinic, both inside and out and annoy Tiger - my partner in crime and other clinic cat - on a regular basis.
I like rough scratches on the back and scavenging for as much food as I possibly can, whilst my humans are on their lunch breaks.
I originally came to the clinic as a kitten from a pet shop - in for a check up. They found I have a heart murmur, so Joseph and Chris decided to adopt me to become a clinic cat, and let me live the wonderful life I have lead since then!

Sabrina (Cat)
Hi my name is Sabrina and I joined Tilly and the rest of the Eltham Central hospital family when I was a kitten, about four years ago, now. I was handed in as a little fluff-ball stray and have lived here ever since.
I love to tease my humans and clients by sitting outside the front door pretending I want to come inside and then running away as soon as they open the door. Because of this, I have a curfew of 4pm.
I enjoy shimmering my tail at you and eating as much food as you can provide.
I do not enjoy being handled, I have legs, so I'll be fine using them thanks.

Tiger (Cat)
Hi I'm Tiger, I came to the clinic as a surrendered, injured cat. After investigating my injuries, the vets established that I had a broken pelvis and spinal damage, most likely from being hit by a car. The wonderful vets at Montmorency Veterinary Hospital pinned and plated my broken bones and nursed me back to health, and now I share the clinic with Lenny the ginger cat, and my humans.
I like snuggling up in a nice warm mound of leaves, dirt or shrubbery, or - if I can find one - a cozy bed.
Occasionally I will let my people play with my spiky ball, and sometimes I will join in because I find it entertains them when I get involved.

Tilly (Cat)
Hello, I'm Tilly and I am the oldest and wisest of the clinic cats at Diamond Valley Veterinary Hospitals.
I found my family when someone bought me in as a young cat. I was a stray.
I lost half my tail in a door-closing-too-fast incident a couple of years ago. I really miss the other half of my tail, but I cope just fine without it.
I love to curl up on the reception computer and stay warm, and when I'm not doing that I'm sleeping next to the computer or eating. I rarely venture outside, but when I do, it’s just to check and make sure the sky is still blue, then I'm back on top of my computer defrosting.
I share Eltham Central Veterinary Hospital with Sabrina the fluffy black cat.
